A fun little mystery full of unreliable narrators and lots of twists…some I saw coming and some I did not。

4⭐️ Lucy Foley is one of my favorite authors! This classic mystery who done it book was great。 My only critique is that I wish it was a bit more exciting。 I thought there were great plot twists and an unexpected ending though!

Preferred to the hunting party, not sure I liked it but it was a readable mystery (though i think a lot of my progress was to find out what the twist would be)。 Ultimately Felt lacking in truly surprising twists and I didn't connect with any of the characters。 Easy, quick read but probably for me 2。5 rounded up to 3 and probably now my last read of this author。 Just don't really connect with her material。 Preferred to the hunting party, not sure I liked it but it was a readable mystery (though i think a lot of my progress was to find out what the twist would be)。 Ultimately Felt lacking in truly surprising twists and I didn't connect with any of the characters。 Easy, quick read but probably for me 2。5 rounded up to 3 and probably now my last read of this author。 Just don't really connect with her material。 。。。more

The set up of the plot was slow。 The book was entertaining and a fast read but it didn’t lead up to much。 I would consider it more of scandalous story than a thriller。

Really not my favourite。 The worst of the Lucy Foley books I've read so far, the writing itself is just not good。 Extremely repetitive prose, an unlikeable main character with little depth, Theo as a plot device that does not add anything to the book。 Very little actually happens but is expanded to create the illusion of intricacy。 I will say the structure and slow reveals of the book are more challenging than previous books, however it feels as though the commitment to the idea and structure ov Really not my favourite。 The worst of the Lucy Foley books I've read so far, the writing itself is just not good。 Extremely repetitive prose, an unlikeable main character with little depth, Theo as a plot device that does not add anything to the book。 Very little actually happens but is expanded to create the illusion of intricacy。 I will say the structure and slow reveals of the book are more challenging than previous books, however it feels as though the commitment to the idea and structure over shadowed the actual writing itself。 Enjoyed Guest List a lot, did not enjoy this one。 。。。more

Okay so the start of the book was SLOW ! I mean I had my doubts, I’d heard so much great things about Lucy Foley , I just wondered if I’d managed to pick up her only dud book。 Thankfully I was wrong & once the story finally got going it was gripping , twisty & tense。 I thought I’d worked out the plot twist / who dun it moment but nope I was so very wrong。 Overall it was a good read , towards the end 1/4 I couldn’t put it down , wanting to read every spare second I had & definitely will try more Okay so the start of the book was SLOW ! I enjoyed this book, the eccentric charterers kept me pulled in to see who was the true bad guy。 During multiple points in the story, it seemed they were all fighting to be the worst。 I was in between three or four stars on this, but went with 4。

I loved how the storyline was portrayed from several different characters。 A real page turner as it drew nearer to the end。。

I can’t believe it got so nice and dark after 80%!! This book would’ve been perfect if it were 100 pages shorter。 There was so much fluff for anticipation, but all it did was take us on unrelated adventures。

This was an ok read。 At times the plot dragged too slowly, but then it seemed to wrap up in too pretty of a bow too quickly at the end。 I liked the concept of this book, but just didn’t how the pieces fell into place。

Felt a little long and didn’t get interesting til about a half way through but the twists were good

This was a fun mystery! Had a good twist at the end。 Would recommend。

I found this very very slow。 Despite great narrators and enjoying Lucy Foley's other books。 I cannot bring myself to finish this one。 It's a no from me。 I found this very very slow。 Despite great narrators and enjoying Lucy Foley's other books。 I cannot bring myself to finish this one。 It's a no from me。 。。。more

The first half of the book, I was skeptical of the storyline。 It felt weird。 That’s the best way I can describe it。 You didn’t have any idea what was going on and there were all this odd events that kept happening。 The second portion of the book was really good and had me wanting to find out what was going on。Jess is thrown into a very complicated situation where she is supposed to be meeting her brother at her apartment, but he’s not there… She then embarks on a journey to find out what happene The first half of the book, I was skeptical of the storyline。 It felt weird。 That’s the best way I can describe it。 You didn’t have any idea what was going on and there were all this odd events that kept happening。 The second portion of the book was really good and had me wanting to find out what was going on。Jess is thrown into a very complicated situation where she is supposed to be meeting her brother at her apartment, but he’s not there… She then embarks on a journey to find out what happened to him as she suspects the people in the building know what’s going on and aren’t saying。 Mimi is a psycho that definitely needs help。 Her actions aren’t normal or okay in any fashion。 Can’t believe Ben slept with Sophie (the mom)。 I never suspected what happened in the end。 Made sense though。 Give it a shot, see if you like it! 。。。more

I really enjoyed this book , I loved the fact that the chapters are short which kept me hooked to know more , it was impossible for me to put down some times because I wanted to find out more and I also loved the fact that nothing was predictable no matter how you try to solve the mystery you discover something that sets you to 0 so I really enjoyed coming up with theories but the thing that stopped me from getting this book 5 starts is the fact that at some points I personally felt like there w I really enjoyed this book , I loved the fact that the chapters are short which kept me hooked to know more , it was impossible for me to put down some times because I wanted to find out more and I also loved the fact that nothing was predictable no matter how you try to solve the mystery you discover something that sets you to 0 so I really enjoyed coming up with theories but the thing that stopped me from getting this book 5 starts is the fact that at some points I personally felt like there was no mouvement as if all we could see was things I already understood, but the plotwist at the end was so unpredictable。 Finally this book is amazing I highly recommend it if your trying to get into thrillers ! 。。。more

I love the way Lucy Foley does thrillers!!!! She reveals just a little bit at a time, and I can never guess the ending, which I LOVE。 I saw some reviews that said it seemed slow, but I completely disagree— the pace is just right!

Having read -and loved, The Hunting Party and the amazing The Guest List I knew I would enjoy The Paris Apartment。 It’s a dark twisted story in a great city but in a spooky, filled with secrets apartment building。 The characters, residents in the building, are all creepy, suspicious, dangerous people with hidden agendas, bad intentions and motives。 Lucy Foley knows how to create a dark mystery with a lot of suspects and a good story。 If you read and liked her previous books or you just love a go Having read -and loved, The Hunting Party and the amazing The Guest List I knew I would enjoy The Paris Apartment。 It’s a dark twisted story in a great city but in a spooky, filled with secrets apartment building。 The characters, residents in the building, are all creepy, suspicious, dangerous people with hidden agendas, bad intentions and motives。 Lucy Foley knows how to create a dark mystery with a lot of suspects and a good story。 If you read and liked her previous books or you just love a good mystery with a bunch of possible suspects then you’ll like this book 。。。more

I was excited to finally get this one from the digital library! It started strong, giving me high hopes for a page turner, but alas, it stalled midway through and I slogged my way to the finish。 Writing was good, storyline was, meh。 Not the worst book I’ve ever read for sure, but also not worth the hype。 🤷🏻‍♀️

Katherine Howard

Was it entertaining? Yes。 Did also have completely unnecessary sexual content that kinda ruined the book for me? Yes。
